We’ve been following the Cannes Film Festival since… well forever, and of course we’ve had our eye on the four leading ladies of South East Asia – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor & Priyanka Chopra.

Here’s a round up of what we thought of their looks at Cannes this year!

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: The Golden Girl

Our rating – 6/10: The casual looks were OKAY, nothing special – but we love a good red lip and Aishwarya knows which shade is hers and owned it!

Our rating – 4/10: We love denim, don’t get us wrong! There’s Cannes casual and then there’s… this.

Our rating – 6/10: Ash looked like a golden mermaid in Lebanese designer, Jean-Louis Sabaji with her hair slicked back. We weren’t really feeling the outfit, but GodDAMN the make up was on point! Notice the little gold speck details on her ears too!

Our rating – 7/10: This was by far our favourite look by Aishwarya who looked heaven-sent in a sweeping white dress of tulle and feathers by Ashi Studio, and finished the look with diamonds in her ears. The kohl-rimmed eyes and light pink lip colour was a home run!

Deepika Padukone: The People’s Sweetheart

Our rating – 7/10: Deepika Padukone was seen in a Peter Dundas white and black gown with a high pony. Loved the look, but could do without that hair style. A low, loose bun or open waves would have been our choice.

Our rating – 8/10: WE LOVED THIS LOOK! Off White has been a popular choice this year and that pop of neon is bang on trend.

Our rating – 8/10: You can’t go wrong with stripes (or polka dots) in our opinion and this suit by Loewe was no exception. The neon orange Stuart Weitzman shoes were the perfect pop to complement the look!

Our rating – 9/10: This was by far our favourite look by Deepika! Sheer brilliance in Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini with soft pink Jimmy Choo shoes and rose coloured sunglasses by Marc Jacobs. This was a look even WE want to recreate and wear!

Our rating – 7/10: We love florals in spring & this Erdem gown fit the bill. (We see your Miranda Priestly and raise you our own sass – also if you don’t get this reference, for shame…)

Our rating – 2/10: WHAT. WAS. THIS? Camp is over, girl… The only redeeming thing about this look, was the colour.

Sonam Kapoor: The Ultimate Style Queen

Our rating – 7/10: Rose red in Valentino, there’s a girl with flowers in her hair and Chopard jewellery in her ears. That girl is Sonam Kapoor – the one who gets what Cannes is all about!

Our rating – 8/10: Loose silhouettes with movement like poetry in motion are what we live for! This gorgeous midnight blue Elie Saab gown is a pure Cannes look, through and through!

Our rating – 6/10: She smashed it out of the park in Abujani Sandeep Khosla – but it was too extra. We just wouldn’t wear that to dinner.

Our rating – 8/10: Sunny yellow in a custom Ashi Studio dress, Sonam kept it simple with canary in her ears too by Chopard and yellow shoes. We love that the pop of color was brought just by her red lipstick finished with a sleek, clean low pony.

Our rating – 8/10: Sonam ditched the dresses for a custom Ralph & Russo couture tuxedo, paired with white Jimmy Choos heels and beautiful jewellery by Chopard. The emeralds were the perfect finish to the all white, crisp look!

Priyanka Chopra: The International Maven

Our rating – 4/10: Priyanka was seen in a white ensemble by Honayda inspired by what the late Lady Diana once wore to the Cannes Film Festival. Some things are best left not copied.

Our rating – 5/10: Its a pass mark because its Roberto Cavalli. We expect more from an international superstar!

Our rating – 7/10: We LOVED this Rick Owens look on PC. The shade of blue was summery, yet cooling and fresh! Lose the hat and its a home run!

Our rating – 2/10: The colour is all we want to see. The rest… well, we wish it hadn’t happened. Apologies, Fendi.

Our rating – 8/10: Give us an all white tulle look by Georges Hobeika and diamonds by Chopard and you just can’t go wrong!

Our rating – 8/10: We love the silhouette. We love the colour! Priyanka stunned in this shimmery orange gown by Tommy Hilfiger and redeemed herself.

We already can’t wait for next year! See you then!
