With pristine white sands, azure blue waters, and a variety of flora and fauna, Nusa Dua is a small piece of paradise in Indonesia. I made my way to this beautiful part of Indonesia after my stay in Ubud (read about it in part 1 of this travel feature).

The drive took about 2-3 hours, but can take longer depending on traffic.

Upon reaching Nusa Dua, we drove into what seemed to be a gated community for luxury hotels, all within walking distance of each other. At the entrance of this luxurious gated realm stood a small shopping centre with a number of restaurants, which was a 10-minute walk from the hotel I stayed at. I chose to stay at the Ayodya Resort Bali, which is a magnanimous resort filled with all your holiday needs! The beachfront hotel has three swimming pools, a multitude of restaurants, and interesting activities to ensure you are always entertained. Since we arrived at the hotel by 2:00pm, we decided to immediately have lunch – and suffice to say, the food at the beachfront restaurant within the hotel was nothing short of amazing!

The rest of the day was spent by the beautiful shades of blue of the ocean, set along pristine white sands, and a colourful array of umbrellas and cushions where guests could relax. Swimming in the sea was a delightful experience, with the weather in April being perfect, and resulting in the water temperature being just right. After enjoying a dip in the sea, a nap by the sea, and many a coconuts, it was time to head out for dinner in the nearby shopping and restaurant complex before calling it a night.

The next day, it was time to explore outside the hotel and make our way to the hip and happening area known as Seminyak. Seminyak is about a 45-minute drive away from Nusa Dua, and has a multitude of restaurants, beach clubs, and hotels – not to forget, an excellent ice-cream stall with literally every flavor imaginable available! After exploring the local markets, we made our way to the famed Potato head Beach Club to watch the sunset,
enjoy some great tunes, and munch of some delicious wagyu beef burgers.

On the last day, it was time to be by the beach again, because one just can’t get enough of the pristine blue water! After a delicious lunch at the hotel’s pizzeria, we decided to venture out to the Tanah Lot water temple for more beautiful views of the sunset.
Tanah Lot is a natural beauty, a temple set upon a tempered rock, beaten and moulded into shape by the crashing waves of the sea. It is a sight to see, especially with the sun going down around it. Sitting atop a hillside restaurant and watching the breathtaking sunset was one of the most serene experiences one can have.

By nightfall, we made our way back to the hotel, with our hearts full after witnessing the gift of nature.
Bali truly is heaven on earth. The island has so much to offer and so many sights to see, among interesting cuisine, excellent massages, and some of the loveliest people to welcome you to soak in their culture. It is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for the best of both worlds: luxury and serenity!
