Made in Pakistan: Export-worthy fashion hits the ramp

Fashion Pakistan, the leading platform for Pakistani fashion designers has announced a partnership with TDAP, for upcoming ‘Made in Pakistan’ fashion showcase to be held on November 10th, 11th and 12th 2017 in Karachi.

The Made in Pakistan fashion showcase is being held to produce export-worthy collections by established designers and as a stepping stone for upcoming designers under the ‘Millennial Fashion Platform‘ who will then be linked with the industry to produce collections for the international markets as orders are procured. Besides providing young designers with solid experience and mentoring, and a chance for their work and talent to be recognized, the aim is to provide a process which encourages production of value added products as a way forward in making our fashion industry competitive in international markets by building on relationships with buyers, both overseas and domestic, and establishing and strengthening ties with foreign businesses.

Made in Pakistan is the first event of its kind, providing premium exposure to established and emerging fashion designers in the industry. The event will showcase collections by:

  • Tena Durrani,

  •  Gulabo by Maheen Khan.

Commenting on the event and partnership with TDAP, Feri Rawanian- CEO Fashion Pakistan said:

This year the numbers have shown that due to competitive markets the export have dropped by $2 billion. Most of the manufacturing has moved to countries like Bangladesh, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam…At Fashion Pakistan, we want to develop our designers and provide them with a stage so they have the right market insight and tools to get in to this value added segment in-line with international trends and consumer demands. This collaboration with TDAP aims to do just that.


This year, Fashion Pakistan will also be launching 10 emerging designers under Millennial Fashion Platform that will be happening on the November 12th 2017 on the third day of the Made in Pakistan event. The designers showcasing include Farah Usman, Sundus Talpur, Salman Javed,Zainab Khalid, Amna & Rida, Shahmeer Ansari, Farah Asad, Sobia Halar, Naina Bhagwati and TIP Collective Showcase.


Nubain Ali will be taking the role of the show Director/choreographer for the event. Backstage and event management will be done by Production 021. Hair and Make-up will be handled by N-PRO & N-GENTS and Take-II will serve as the official PR for the event while Mind Map Communications will be handling digital media.
