One of the latest beauty fads worldwide is microblading eyebrows. Being offered by a few local salons and aestheticians, this is a form of semi-permanent tattoo that involves using tiny needles (instead of a tattoo gun) that make up a small blade to help deposit pigment under your skin. The pigment is used to fill in gaps and shape your brows the way you want.

So for those of us who wish for thicker, fuller brows and are tired of constantly having to pencil them in, microblading offers a lasting solution.

How long does it last

Typically it will last up to 12-24 months, after which the pigment starts to fade away, returning your eyebrows to their regular shape and thickness. During this time, you may need touch ups, the frequency  of which depend on your skin type and personal preference.

How much does it cost

Locally, the charges start at Rs.18000 (not including any touch ups you may require later).

After care

For a week or so after the procedure, you have to minimise contact with water, so ensure that you don’t wash the area or sweat as this could cause the pigment to leak. After this, no special care is needed.

Since it is a costly procedure, and you don’t want to end up with eyebrows you don’t like, so make sure you’ve done your research. We would recommend you to get first hand references, see the looks and understand how successful the procedure would be for your skin type before going ahead with it.
