India’s first major female-centric film, ‘Veere Di Wedding’, had everyone excited with its amusing trailer, catchy tunes and sizzling cast. Sad news for us though, as the Central Board of Film Censors has banned the film from releasing in Pakistan.

“It has been banned by CBFC, Islamabad.” Nadeem Mandviwala, owner and managing director of Mandviwalla Entertainment and Atrium Cinemas confirmed to Edition.

Starring Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor in main roles, ‘Veere Di Wedding’ follows the journey of four friends and one big fat desi wedding. The trailer made it obvious that the film is intended for an older audience, as it contains mature themes and profanity.

The film was scheduled to release worldwide on 1st June.
