Deepika and Kangana’s Cannes looks in focus

Before our very own Mahira Khan takes on the Cannes red carpet, we’ve been following Bollywood divas, Deepika Padukone and Kangana Ranaut’s Cannes style closely. While Aishwarya Rai and Sonam Kapoor are yet to make an appearance, these two actresses have been rocking it!

Here’s what we loved, and what we didn’t, from Deepika and Kangana’s Cannes fashion:

Deepika Padukone

Style Rating: 6/10

Deepika Padukone made her first appearance in a white t-shirt and blue jeans, and while it might have been too simple for some people, we like the touch added by the oversized sunglasses and neat hair.

Style Rating: 7/10

Her next looked was this fun striped dress by TOME NYC, and while horizontal stripes are tricky to ace, she carried it well.

Style Rating: 3/10

She then wore a dress by Philosophy, and we’d just like to pretend that it never happened…

Style Rating: 7/10

Her first red carpet appearance was in a classic sheer dress by Zuhair Murad. While the actress looks lovely, we do feel that this design has been overdone.

Style Rating: 9/10

The next day she came out in a striking purple pant suit by MAO and set new goals for the power-suit! We love it.

Style Rating: 4/10

She then wore a metallic gown by Alberta Ferretti, and failed to impress. Plus, why wear a dress already worn by another actress?

Style Rating: 7.5/10

Her next red carpet appearance was in a bright pink gown by Ashi Studio, and while we’re not fans of ruffles, the crazy sleeves on this one actually look pretty cool.

Style Rating: 7/10
Deepika ended last night with this black look by Marcell von Berlin for the Chopard party, where we wish the actress had let her hair down– literally!

Kangana Ranaut

Style Rating: 6/10

Kangana Ranaut started out with this desi Audrey Hepburn look in a black sequinned saari by Sabyasachi.

Style Rating: 8/10

Her first red carpet appearance was also in a sheer Zuhair Murad dress, and it was styled to perfection.

Style Rating: 7.5/10

She then wore a hot Namushka dress giving some serious Matrix vibes.

Style Rating: 8/10

And then made a statement in this sultry look by Trussardi. Va-va-voom!

Style Rating: 7/10

Her next red carpet appearance was in a metallic catsuit by Nedret Taciroglu, and while it was quite fitting for a Costume Ball/Disco Party, we think it goes with her persona!

Style Rating: 5/10

And for the after party she wore another sequinned dress by Halpern Studio and well…meh…

Stay tuned for a breakdown of Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai’s upcoming looks!
