Why is “Fifty Shades of Grey” too hot for Pakistan?

By this point in time, we have all read the novel(s) and know what could be expected of the movie. However, we are all wondering what exactly was in the movie that it got banned from Pakistan, India and many other countries across the globe? Here’s all you need to know:

7

Total no. of sex & BDSM scenes

3

Sex scenes that happen in the Red Room

20

Minutes of sexual content in the movie

18-ish

Total scenes that involve spanking / whipping / flogging

0%

of Dakota Johnson’s(Anastasia) body left to the imagination

3 %

Percent of Jamie Dornan’s(Christian Grey) body left to the imagination

Our personal favorite scene from the movie is when Anastasia walks in on Mr. Grey playing the piano shirtless against the skyline of Seattle.

Some of our favorite lines from the book adaptation are:

We’re not too sure whether Christian Grey is Fifty Shades of Fucked Up or the world is, but surely the worldwide record breaking opening of over $250 million in the first four days is an indication of sorts. We can only guess how high it would have risen if it wasn’t banned in half of the world.

Putting a ban on the movie seems like a futile effort though, because those who want to watch it will do whatever it takes – whether they have to buy a DVD, download a torrent, or ask someone to WeTransfer it to them.
