With the influx of information, excessive reading and even self help books, some of us find ourselves glued to the screen, causing headaches, and an inability to sleep especially with screen time.

Whether you’re on your daily commute, stuck either in a sleepy fuzzy daze all the way to a Monday which you need to power up for, or you’re coming back from work or even sitting home trying to power out some decisions and need some motivation, we feel you can take comfort in the various podcasts available on Apple or Android Apps which are free of cost and just need an internet connection.

Personally, we use the podcasts which help put us to sleep but even when we’re up and want to power through the day, we use more motivating apps, and some for creativity.

Podcasts even range from travel, knowledge, discussion, political and psychological topics and the best part of this? They’re short and are engaging and you can attach your phone to your speakers and get the most of what you need while you get ready to go out, about to present in an important meeting or just want to switch off and shut the world.

Here are some of our favourites:

1. Adulting – swelled with humour, it accounts for the fact is no one is really ready to be an adult and growing up is a trap right? Hosts and comedians Michelle Buteau (Always Be My Maybe) and Jordan Carlos of the new podcast Adulting will make you feel like that’s…absolutely normal. They’ll make light of some of life’s most awkward and everyday situations, from navigating ungodly encounters to budgeting for new pillows.

2. Safe for Work – burnt out? Need a raise? Need to learn how to get a job or communicate with a difficult boss? need a little extra help at work? Liz Dolan and Rico Gagliano began hosting Safe for Work in 2018 to provide actionable ways to listeners looking to navigate their work environments from avoiding burnout to negotiating a raise. And when you’re really having a bad day, tune into their June 3 episode: “Is Rage Quitting Ever Worth It?”

3. The 5 AM Miracle – the secret to starting a good day in a productive way? Jeff Sanders’s weekly podcast, The 5 AM Miracle, is all about “dominating your day before breakfast” by developing powerful early-morning habits and rituals. Sanders says this approach is key to his personal success as a marathon runner, entrepreneur, and healthy vegan. Famous celebrities and mindfulness experts like Deepak Chopra, Stephanie Gibson, and Ted Ryce, also are invited to share their views about life and daily success guaranteeing rituals.

4. Beyond the to-do list – life is more than just rituals and robotic habits. Getting through a list and managing mundane tasks. Albert Einstein said, “The only source of knowledge is experience.” Erik Fisher sure knows this by heart, since his podcast features interviews with people who share their successes but also their lessons learned from failure. Recent themes explored by Fisher and his guests include remote management, inbox zero, creativity, and hustle.

5. Mindfulness Mode – With mental health now beginning to be discussed openly and more people being able to communicate their stigmas, we still need readily available information for coming our minds, helping us with anxiety and depressive episodes. Therapists are far and few in Pakistan – and fewer to cater for the rapidly challenging dynamics and habits of the younger generation. This podcast aims to increase your ability to remain calm, joyful, and focused by taking time for mindfulness and meditation.
