A day to detox, take a break, breathe or relax is crucial especially when one has a tough working schedule. Here's why!

The difference between an 'off day' and burn out is significant, as burn out leaves a person with no choice but to mentally go off the radar but a day to detox is one we choose ourselves and thus spend in the way we want.

Taking a day out for yourself in a week does not necessary mean that we have reached our limit and need time off to unwind. It can simply mean that we need to pause and tend to ourselves in order to be more productive throughout the week.

Taking time off will not only give you a much needed mental cleanse but it also gives you a chance to marvel at the world around you and appreciate your surroundings. By pausing and allocating some time of our day to looking around and observing, we allow ourselves to exist in harmony with our surroundings, savouring the moment and making the most of it. It's time to put time into things you cannot possibly squeeze into your busy schedule at work. If you want a day off to just relax, it is completely acceptable, or if you choose your time off to pursue other activities such as exercise, taking classes or doing anything else, it works too!

It's a person's choice to do what they please with their time off, establishing a sense of 'space' where they have the option of ultimately deciding what they'd like to do.
