Lahore Music Meet organization intends to provide a platform for all music performances, enterprises, education and academia, in this regard they held an event open to general public from 4th to 5th of April at Alhamra Art Center in Lahore. The idea was to encourage the talent in our country and foster relationships between individuals within the music fraternity.

The two day event aimed to bring together enthusiasts, artisans, artists, patrons, industry representatives and academics to initiate dialogue on the developments in music and their shortcomings, in order to revitalize the reputation and perception of music within the country and abroad.

The event consisted of workshops, performances and seminars to celebrate and critique the music industry in Pakistan.

The seminars consisted of The Technique Behind Classical Music, Marketing Yourself As A Musician, Corporate Patronage Of Music, Music In The World Of Film, Women In Music and many more. Whereas, the performances lined up for LMM included Jimmy Khan and the Big Ears, Asrar, Pappu Saeen & Nasir, Keeray Makoray, Sachal Orchestra, Noor Zehra and Rakae Jamil, Ali Suhail, Sikandar Ka Mandar, Alien Panda Jury, Shajie, Sameen Qasim, Dynoman, Those Retards and Toll Crane.

“I believe that the provision of such a platform is of critical necessity in encouraging the sharing of experiences and aspirations, the reclamation of sites of expression, the appreciation of the sociological contributions of music and efforts to preserve social narratives and critiques embedded within neglected forms of music. It is hoped that such dialogue provides much-needed impetus to processes which could potentially revitalize the dynamics and perceptions of musical activity in the country.” – said Natasha Noorani, founder of Lahore Music Meet
