Beautiful young lead actors, industry stalwarts and some classic storytelling makes ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ a light-hearted watch.

There is something so endearing about telefilms - reminiscent of an era of television content enjoyed together as a family. ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ fits the bill exactly.

Produced by 7th Sky Productions, the 100- minute telefirm aired on Geo last week. The cast includes up and coming stars Haroon Kadwani and Sehar Khan. The rest of the cast consists of Bushra Ansari, Usman Peerzada and Javed Sheikh - each one of them enough to carry the entire telefilm on their own. The juxtaposition of the ‘junior’ and the ‘senior’ makes for a simple narrative based on the classic binary opposition of characters and the conflicts that arise. However, in true desi story telling fashion, it all ends well. Don’t worry, no spoilers ahead.

Haroon Kadwani plays the carefree and playful Armaan, against a responsible, girl-next-door Zara (Sehar Khan). The two would-be lovers are neighbours and classmates, and so the story unfolds. With twists, turns, conflicts and finally a resolution. While not giving away the plot, think of a pretty Karan Johar style young love story with stubborn but loving parents. All it’s missing is a couple of dance sequences. The young leads make for a charming pair, particularly 21 year old Haroon Kadwani. He is definitely one to watch out for.
