Karachi's Covid-19 positivity rate is reportedly at an alarming high.

The National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) was told on Thursday that Karachi's coronavirus positivity rate was on the rice, with a 20% spike in the number. Currently, the number of critical patients stands at 2,496, and is still growing while over 3,499 new cases have been recorded in the past 24 hours.

With hospitals beginning to fill up and over 39 new deaths reported in the city, doctors are warning that the second wave of the novel coronavirus is more threatening than the first, with a higher positivity rate and death toll according to healthcare officials.

According to Dawn News, the total tally has amounted to 406,810, making the situation more dangerous than imagined, as smart lockdowns do not seem to be helping the rampantly rising positive cases.

With a positivity rate reported to be 8.16%, the total active cases in Pakistan currently stands at 50,000. Smart lockdowns are being strictly implemented by the government but the future of how Pakistan with handle the pandemic.
