The actor confirmed via twitter that she initially did not feel comfortable announcing that she had caught the virus.

Actor Yashma Gill confirms she has tested positive for the novel coronavirus after experiencing mild symptoms of fever.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote,

"3 days ago I felt feverish and mild symptoms associated with #Covid19 - so I self-isolated & got myself test immediately. Last evening the report came positive, but so far I am doing fine (alhamdulillah) except the initial symptoms."

Other celebrities in the media fraternity who have previously dealt with Covid 19 include Abrar Ul Haq, Maheen Khan, Sakina Samo, Amir Adnan, Shafaat Ali, Vasay Chaudhry and Rubina Ashraf -who is recovering well according to her daughter. The cases in Pakistan have reached more than 245,000 people. According to the recent reports, over 150,000 people have recovered from the disease with over 5,000 fatalities.

Yashma Gill also discusses stigma around the disease in another tweet, ‘Initial thought was [I] won’t tell anyone - but then I realised we can’t create a stigma around this disease and we need to fight it. Keep me in your prayers ... because I am scared!’
