Hungry at home? Try this tasty recipe for homemade banana bread!

During these past few months in lockdown some of us have turned to cooking and mastering our chef skills. Coming out of the situation, we can still put our skills to good use by fancying up a delicious and healthy snack!

Banana bread may be a sweet snack when you're craving some delectable dessert or a day time munch, but it can be healthy too, containing bananas which are high in fiber content, protein and healthy fats. Here's how you can make your very own scrumptious baked good at home!

  • Ingredients

    Unsalted butter 1/2 cup

Sugar 3/4 cup (substituted with honey)

    Eggs (2)

    Vanilla extract 1/2 tsp

All purpose flour 1 1/2 cup

    3 ripe bananas

    Baking soda 1 tsp

    Salt 1/4 tsp

    Raisins 1/2 cup

    Walnuts 1 cup

    Dark chocolate chips 1/4 cup

  • Preparation:

    Preheat oven at 180 degrees.

In a bowl, combine room temperature butter with sugar or honey (if using honey) and whisk with electric mixer at medium high speed.

In a separate bowl, with a help of a fork, mash bananas and bring it to baby food consistency. Add them to batter along with eggs and mix for a while.

In a separate bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add it into the batter and keep mixing.

Now, add vanilla extract, raisins, chocolate chips, and chopped walnuts. Mix with the help of the spatula. Do not use an electric mixer at this stage.

Take a bread loaf pan and grease it with butter and flour. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake it at 180 degrees for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 mins before transferring it to the wire rack.

And voila! Here you have some freshly baked and crunchy banana bread with chocolate chips and walnut extracts. Super filling and super yummy, bon appetit!
